COMMANDER’S CUP GOLF – 2026 TO TEE OFF AT EAGLES’ GOLF LINKS AND COURSES, CHINA BAY
The SLAF received continued corporate support for its annual golfing event as the symbolic sponsorship cheque for the Commander’s Cup Golf – 2026 was handed over today (17 February 2026) at Air Force Headquarters.
The cheque was presented to the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, by Mr. Navin Peiris, Group Chief Officer of Dialog Enterprise, marking the company’s role as the exclusive main sponsor of the tournament for the sixth consecutive year.
The event was attended by Chairman Air Force Golf, Air Commodore Erandika Gunewardene, Secretary Air Force Sports Council, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, Secretary Air Force Golf Links and Courses, Group Captain Asanka Rathnayake and Secretary Air Force Golf, Wing Commander Thushan Fernando.
The Commander’s Cup Golf – 2026 is scheduled to be held on 20 and 21 January 2026 at the Eagles’ Golf Links of the SLAF in China Bay, near the historic harbour city of Trincomalee. This annual tournament, now in its 13th consecutive edition, provides a platform for both men and women golfers to compete in a professionally conducted event set against the scenic coastal surroundings of the Eastern Province.
The Eagles’ Golf Links has steadily gained recognition as a distinctive golfing venue in Sri Lanka and the Commander’s Cup has become a key fixture in the Air Force’s annual sporting calendar.
