COMMANDER OF THE US PACIFIC FLEET CALLS ON THE COMMANDER OF THE AIR FORCE

Commander of the US Pacific Fleet, Admiral Steve Koehler, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, today (20 February 2026) at Air Force Headquarters.

Upon arrival, Admiral Koehler was received by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, Air Commodore Buddika Piyasiri and was accorded a Guard of Honour presented by the SLAF Colour Wing. 

During the visit, the US Pacific Fleet Commander also met with the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff and Members of the Air Force Board of Management. The cordial discussions between the two Commanders focused on areas of mutual interest, including joint training, technical knowledge exchange and the enhancement of maritime domain awareness. 

The official visit concluded with the exchange of plaques to mark the occasion. 

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
