Fun Filled Day For Kids at Diyatalawa
2:33pm on Friday 12th August 2011
The Sri Lanka Air Force Pre-School, held its annual sports meet on 9th August 2011 at the station sports grounds with the participation of the Commanding Officer Group Captain Janaka Amarasinghe.
The Kids band welcomed the chief guest for the function with the officer in charge Squadron Leader Chandana Munasinghe. Hoisting of the National Flag and the lighting of the traditional Olympic lamp started the proceedings for the day. A lot of children’s games and fun activities were organized to give them a day full of enjoyment.
The establishment of pre-schools on international standards in Air Force establishments located around the country was a concept introduced by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit. This venture is indeed of immense value, as it eases the burden of providing quality early education for children of personnel serving in the SLAF as well as for the children of people living in the vicinity of SLAF establishments.
