COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT FOR THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED
The Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit in collaboration with the Directorate of Electronic and Computer Engineering donated 15 desktop computers to a group of students of the University of Colombo yesterday (09 March 2026).
These students who are second year undergraduates will utilize the computers to establish a dedicated IT Laboratory for the Primary Section of the Deaf and Blind School in Ratmalana. These resources aim to develop IT and creative skills of visual and hearing impaired children.
The computers were handed over to the students by the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe in the presence of the Director General Electronic and Computer Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Asitha Hettiarachchi, Director Information Technology, Group Captain SKHC Sooriyaarachchi, senior officers and other ranks of the Seva Vanitha Unit.
