SLAF WOMEN’S TAPE BALL TEAM EMERGES CHAMPIONS AT NATIONAL TAPE BALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The SLAF Women’s Tape Ball Team emerged as Champions at the National Tape Ball Championship organized by the Sri Lanka Tape Ball Association.
The championship was held on 08 and 09 March 2026 at the SLLDC Ground, Nawala, while the awards ceremony was conducted at the same venue on 09 March 2026.
The awards ceremony was graced by General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Tape Ball Association, Ms. Himeshi Fernando and Assistant General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Tape Ball Association, Ms. Malathi Shanmuganathan, along with officers representing the Association.
The SLAF Women’s Tape Ball Team delivered a commendable performance to secure the championship title, winning five major awards including Player of the Tournament, Best Batswoman of the Tournament, most 4’s of the Tournament, most 6’s of the Tournament and Player of the Final Match.
Further highlighting the SLAF’s success, Leading Aircraftwoman Mendis WLD brought great honour to the Sri Lanka Air Force by winning four individual awards: Player of the Tournament, Best Batswoman of the Tournament, Highest Number of Boundaries (4’s) and Player of the Final Match.
In addition, Leading Aircraftwoman Keerthirathne DGAP secured the award for Highest Number of Sixes (6’s), further contributing to the team’s outstanding achievements at the championship.
