The No. 01 Air Defence Radar Squadron, stationed at SLAF Base Katunayake, celebrated its 20th anniversary today (18 March 2026) with a series of events. The celebrations commenced with a Shramadhana campaign held at the Sri Shobaramaya Temple in Kadirana, Negombo. This was followed by a religious programme conducted to invoke blessings for the Squadron and its personnel, under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Upul Dharmapala.

The anniversary proceedings continued with the customary Working Parade, which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer. The day’s events concluded with a sports programme attended by Formation Commanding Officers and Squadron personnel.
