No. 08 Tactical Transport Squadron at SLAF Base Ratmalana proudly celebrated its 30th Anniversary today (02 April 2026) marking three decades of distinguished service and commitment to the nation. The squadron was established on 2nd April 1996 during a critical phase of national security operations and the Squadron has evolved into a highly adaptable and dependable tactical transport unit within the SLAF. 

The 30th Anniversary celebrations were held at the Squadron premises under the leadership of the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Ershad Mutaliph. In keeping with SLAF tradition and discipline, a ceremonial parade was conducted, along with a tree planting ceremony and cricket tournament attended by all personnel of the squadron. 

No. 08 Tactical Transport Squadron marks this significant milestone, it stands as a proud symbol of three decades of dedication, resilience and excellence with a steadfast commitment to its mission.
