SLAF ASSISTS IN CONTAINING FIRE IN MAHAKUBUKGOLLAWA
The SLAF extended prompt assistance in responding to a fire that broke out at a retail shop in Mahakubukgollawa, Madawachchiya, yesterday (15 April 2026). The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
Upon receiving information from the Vavuniya Municipal Council Fire Brigade, a team of SLAF personnel from SLAF Base Vavuniya was immediately dispatched to the location.
Working in close coordination with the Anuradhapura and Vavuniya Fire Brigades, along with the Sri Lanka Navy Fire Unit, the SLAF team contributed significantly to bringing the fire under control. The swift and coordinated response by all agencies played a vital role in minimizing further damage.
