SLAF ATHLETES TO REPRESENT SRI LANKA AT 6TH ASIAN BEACH GAMES 2026
Seventeen personnel from the SLAF, comprising one official, one coach and fifteen athletes, are set to represent Sri Lanka at the 6th Asian Beach Games scheduled to be held in China from 22 to 30 April 2026.
The SLAF contingent will compete across multiple disciplines, with the largest representation in Handball, which includes seven athletes along with one coach and one official. Wrestling and Athletics will each be represented by two athletes, while Kabaddi will feature three athletes. Additionally, one athlete will represent the SLAF in Volleyball.
In team leadership roles, the Sri Lankan Women’s Handball team will be captained by Corporal Erandi WP of the SLAF, while the Sri Lankan Men’s Kabaddi team will be led by Leading Aircraftman Samarakoon SMCR.
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, extended his best wishes to the SLAF contingent during a meeting held at Air Force Headquarters today (16 April 2026). He commended their dedication and expressed confidence in their ability to bring honour to the nation through their participation.
