The SLAF Novices Boxing Team delivered an impressive performance at the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) Men’s and Women’s Novices Boxing Tournament – 2026, held from 04 to 08 May 2026 at the Sri Lanka Boxing Association Gymnasium, Diyagama.

Represented by four boxers, the SLAF team secured one Gold Medal and one Silver Medal at the tournament. Aircraftwoman Senarathne KGK clinched the Gold Medal in the Women’s Light Middleweight (Under 70 Kg) category and was further honoured as the ‘Best Woman Boxer’ of the tournament for her exceptional performance. Meanwhile, Corporal Bandara KMS secured the Silver Medal in the Men’s Light Middleweight (Under 70 Kg) category, bringing further recognition to the SLAF boxing team.
