ANNUAL COMMANDER'S INSPECTION AT SLAF STATION BATTICALOA
The Commander of the Air Force, Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Annual Commander’s Inspection at SLAF Station Batticaloa today (26 May 2026).
The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Batticaloa, Malith Ranrajeewana, welcomed the Commander upon his arrival. A street line was accorded in honour of the Commander, together with the Air Force Standard.
During the inspection, the Commander visited all areas of the station and joined a cross-section of officers, airmen and civilian staff at the Airmen’s Mess for the customary All-Ranks Lunch.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the Commander addressed all service personnel at the station. He reminded all personnel of the importance of exercising utmost care and prudence in the utilization of available resources. They were encouraged to adopt a disciplined and resource-conscious approach in order to effectively support the implementation of these measures and overcome existing challenges.
Furthermore, the Commander expressed his appreciation to the Commanding Officer, fellow officers, and all service personnel for their dedication and for the successful conduct of the Annual Commander’s Inspection. He concluded the gathering by thanking all officers and airmen, and encouraged both service and civilian personnel of the station to maintain the highest standards at all times.
