ANNUAL COMMANDER’S INSPECTION AT SLAF REGIMENTAL TRAINING CENTRE AMPARA
The Commander of the Air Force, Bandu Edirisinghe, commenced the Annual Commander’s Inspection at SLAF Regimental Training Centre Ampara today (26 May 2026).
During the course of the inspection, the Commander declared open the newly constructed hospital and the Special Airborne Force Training School at the Centre.
Furthermore, four service personnel received commendations from the Commander in recognition of their meritorious service to the SLAF:
Flight Sergeant Bandara HMTSUR – Operations Ground (Sp)
Sergeant Warnasooriya MWJR – Operations Ground (III)
Corporal Perera WC – Account Specialist (I)
Leading Aircraftman Karunarathne RMLDC – Operations Ground (II)
During the inspection, the Commander visited all areas of the Centre and joined a cross-section of officers, airmen, airwomen and civilian staff at the Airmen’s Mess for the customary all-ranks refreshments.
The Commander concluded the inspection by addressing all ranks and civilian employees, expressing his profound gratitude for their contributions towards maintaining the Centre’s high standards. He reminded all personnel of the importance of exercising utmost care and prudence in the utilization of available resources.
Moreover, the Commander encouraged all service personnel to adopt a disciplined and resource-conscious approach in order to effectively support the implementation of these measures and overcome existing challenges.
















































The Commanding Officer of SLAF Regimental Training Centre Ampara, Group Captain Prabath Alexander, welcomed the Commander upon his arrival. A street line was accorded in honour of the Commander, together with the Air Force Standard.
