SLAF STATION WEERAWILA CELEBRATES 48TH ANNIVERSARY
SLAF Station Weerawila marked its 48th anniversary today (01 June 2026) with a series of activities conducted at the Station.
The commemorative programme commenced with the customary Working Parade, which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Nalaka Wanasinghe. Following the parade, a tree planting activity was held at the Station. Friendly cricket and netball matches were also conducted among personnel.
In line with the anniversary, several community-oriented programmes were carried out. On 25 May 2025, a Shramadana campaign was conducted at Mahamewuna Asapuwa. Renovation work was also carried out to repair two bus stops located near the Station.
In addition, learning material distribution programmes were conducted for students of Magama Central College and Technical College Weerawila. All activities were conducted with the participation of officers and all ranks of the Station.
