SRI LANKA AVIATION CONTINGENT MARKS VESAK IN CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
The 11th Sri Lanka Aviation Contingent under MINUSCA in the Central African Republic commemorated Vesak through a series of religious and cultural events held at Sri Aviation.
On the first day, the morning programme commenced with a Sil observance, followed by multi-religious activities conducted throughout the day. On the second day, the evening celebrations featured a vibrant Vesak lantern exhibition, a traditional Dansala and the melodious rendering of Vesak Bhakthi Gee.
Members from neighbouring contingents serving under the UN mission also participated in the celebrations, emphasizing the spirit of friendship and cultural exchange among peacekeepers.

Contingent Commander Group Captain Asiri Pathirage graced the occasion. He officially inaugurated the Vesak Dansala and lantern exhibition, marking the beginning of the evening festivities.
The Vesak celebrations organized by the 11th Sri Lanka Aviation Contingent successfully upheld cherished Sri Lankan traditions while promoting peace, unity and understanding among the multinational forces serving under the United Nations mission.
