A proposal introducing attractive loan facilities for SLAF personnel through state and private banking institutions was recently submitted by a Board of Officers headed by the Director General Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Rajinth Jayawardena.

Accordingly, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) pertaining to a comprehensive loan package offered by Hatton National Bank (HNB), covering Personal, Housing and Vehicle Loans, was signed today (09 June 2026) at Air Force Headquarters.

The MoU was signed on behalf of Hatton National Bank by the Senior Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Sanjaya Wijemanne, and the Senior Vice President/Head of Retail Banking, Mr. Kanchana Karunagama. The Director General Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Rajinth Jayawardena, signed the agreement on behalf of the SLAF.

The Director Agriculture and Welfare Projects, Air Commodore Erandika Gunawardena, Director Legal, Group Captain Harshani Katugampola, Staff Officer Public Accounts, Group Captain Malinga Silva attended the occasion representing the SLAF and Manager Personal Financial Services, Mr. Asitha Fernando and Branch Manager of Kaluthara, Mr. Naleen Premarathna who coordinated the entire process attended the occasion with several other officials representing the HNB.
