The 11th Sri Aviation Contingent deployed under MINUSCA celebrated Poson Poya Day with a series of religious and cultural activities held at Sri Aviation, Bria, on 29 June 2026.

The programme was conducted with the aim of observing Poson Poya Day and maintaining Buddhist cultural practices among Sri Lankan personnel serving in the Central African Republic. It also provided an opportunity to promote discipline, moral conduct and religious observances within a multinational peacekeeping environment.

The day’s programme commenced in the morning with Sil observance followed by a Bhawana meditation session, allowing personnel to engage in religious observance and reflection in a structured environment.

In the evening, the programme began with the ceremonial opening of the Poson Kalapaya by the Contingent Commander, marking the commencement of the religious and cultural segment. This was followed by a Bhakthi Geetha programme.
The event concluded with a Dansala, where refreshments were provided to contingent members in observance of the occasion.
