The ‘Inter Unit Badminton Championships’ a annual feature in the SLAF sports calendar was concluded on 18 September 2009 at the SLAF Base Katunayake Sports Complex. The event is held annually amongst the SLAF Bases/Stations in view of promoting the game within the SLAF and selecting competent players to represent organization at national level. The Chief of Staff of the SLAF, Air vice Marshal PB Premachandra graced the occasion as the guest of honour for this event.
    After much competition amongst the participating teams SLAF Colombo emerged champs whilst SLAF Base Katunayake Tech Formation became the Runner-up.  The detail results of the event are as follows.
