The SLAF Hospital Colombo commemorated its 12th Anniversary with a series of meaningful programmes. As the highlight of the anniversary celebrations, a Well Woman Clinic was successfully conducted yesterday (02 July 2026) with the objective of promoting women's health and encouraging the early detection of cancer.

The clinic offered comprehensive health screening services, including breast, uterine and cervical cancer screenings, together with medical consultations, health education and counselling conducted by qualified healthcare professionals. The initiative emphasized the importance of regular health screenings, preventive healthcare practices and the early diagnosis of cancer to improve health outcomes.

A total of 60 women participated in the programme. The event was graced by the presence of the Chairperson of the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit, Dr. Rasika Perera and the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe.

The anniversary celebrations commenced on 01 July 2026 with the customary working parade, which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Air Commodore Vasantha Padmaperuma.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, officers, other ranks and civilian staff of the hospital participated in a community service initiative at the Victoria Elders' Home, Rajagiriya, on 01 July 2026. During the programme, the hospital staff extended assistance and spent meaningful time with the elderly residents.

Well Woman Clinic
