COMMANDER'S INSPECTION OF SLAF ACADEMY CHINA BAY
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Annual Commander's Inspection of the SLAF Academy China Bay today (04 July 2026). Prior to the formal inspection, the Commander reviewed the Commander's Inspection Parade, which was commanded by the Commandant of SLAF Academy China Bay, Air Vice Marshal Amal Perera.
In recognition of their exemplary dedication and outstanding contributions to the Academy and the SLAF, the Commander awarded Certificates of Commendation to the following service personnel:

Flight Sergeant Sampath IGH (Aero Engine Specialist)

During the inspection, the Commander visited the Academy Headquarters, Academic Wing, No. 1 Flying Training Wing, No. 3 Maritime Squadron, No. 24 Regiment Wing, Junior Command and Staff College, Ground Training Wing, Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management School, all Clubs and Messes, accommodation areas within the Academy and the Officer Cadets’ Mess, where he reviewed the operational readiness, training standards, administrative functions and welfare facilities maintained by the respective establishments.
Addressing all Academy personnel at the conclusion of the inspection, the Commander commended everyone for their dedication and professionalism in maintaining the Academy to the highest standards. He emphasized the Academy's pivotal role in producing competent military personnel and aviation professionals who continue to serve the Sri Lanka Air Force with distinction.
The Commander further outlined his vision for the future development of the Sri Lanka Air Force, highlighting the importance of embracing advanced technologies, enhancing operational capabilities and fostering innovation to strengthen the effectiveness and readiness of the Service while ensuring the professional growth of its personnel.
