AIR FORCE COMMANDER CONDUCTS SPECIAL INSPECTION OF CHILDREN’S WARD CONSTRUCTION AT APEKSHA HOSPITAL
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted a special inspection today (07 July 2026) to review the progress of the ongoing construction of the new Children’s Ward Complex at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital.
During the visit, the Commander inspected the construction work and received an update on the current progress of the project. The new five-storey facility, spanning approximately 50,000 square feet, is designed to accommodate 80 patients across two residential wards. The complex will also house a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and a Pediatric Outpatient Chemotherapy Unit, further enhancing paediatric cancer care services at the hospital.
