The Change of Command of SLAF Station Palavi took place today (08 July 2026) at the station premises. The handing over/ taking over parade was conducted at the station parade ground, where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Commodore GSN Priyadarshana handed over command to Group Captain WMA Kumarasiri. 

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain Kumarasiri, previously held the appointment of Director Special Operations at Directorate of Ground Operations at Air Force Headquarters, before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Palavi.
