The Change of Command of SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport took place today (10 July 2026) at the station premises. The handing over/ taking over parade was conducted at the station parade ground, where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain SK Weerasekara handed over command to Air Commodore GSN Priyadarshana. 

The new Commanding Officer, Air Commodore GSN Priyadarshana  previously held the appointment of Commanding  Officer SLAF Station Palavi   before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport.
