COMMANDER'S INSPECTION OF SLAF BASE ANURADHAPURA
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Annual Commander's Inspection of the SLAF Base Anuradhapura today (10 July 2026). As a part of the inspection, the Commander reviewed the Parade, which was commanded by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Anuradhapura, Air Commodore Pradeep Piyarathne.
In recognition of their exemplary dedication and outstanding contributions to the Base and the SLAF, the Commander awarded Certificates of Commendation to the following service and civil personnel:

During the inspection, the Commander visited Base Headquarters, Serving and Retired Airmen Holiday Home, Main Guard room, Temple, Pre School, Officers’ Holiday Home, Hospital, MT & MTRS, Sport Section, Bakery, No. 33 LBAD Wing, Main Ops Room and 612 Int Sqn, Officers’ Mess, ATC Tower, No 21 Regt Wing, E & TE Section, Air Women Billet, TETRA School, No 06 Squadron, GEW, Welfare Amenity Complex, Airmen/ Airwomen Social Club and JNCOs’ Club, Supply Section, Airmen accommodation area/ Civil Billet, Works Squadron, Agriculture Section, Eagles’ Heritage Golf Club, WOs' and SNCOs’ Mess, where he reviewed the operational readiness, training standards, administrative functions and welfare facilities maintained by the respective establishments.
Addressing all personnel at the conclusion of the inspection, the Commander commended everyone for their dedication and professionalism in maintaining the Base to the highest standards. He emphasized the pivotal role of the Base is to produce competent military personnel and aviation professionals who continue to serve the SLAF with distinction.
The Commander further outlined his vision for the future development of the SLAF, highlighting the importance of embracing advanced technologies, enhancing operational capabilities and fostering innovation to strengthen the effectiveness and readiness of the service while ensuring the professional growth of its personnel.
