The outgoing Defence Attaché of the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Colonel Muhammad Farooq, paid a farewell call on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe today (24 July 2026) at Air Force Headquarters.

Colonel Muhammad Farooq was accompanied by the newly appointed Defence Attaché of the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Colonel Muhammad Talha Badar, during the courtesy call.

The Commander of the Air Force commended Colonel Farooq for his valuable contribution to enhancing bilateral defence cooperation and strengthening military-to-military relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan during his tenure in Sri Lanka. He also extended his sincere best wishes for Colonel Farooq’s future endeavours.

The Commander further extended a warm welcome to Colonel Muhammad Talha Badar upon assuming his new appointment and expressed confidence that the longstanding ties of friendship and military cooperation between the two nations would continue to strengthen during his tenure.
