The Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, paid a farewell call on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, at Air Force Headquarters today (30 July 2026). 

Upon his arrival at Air Force Headquarters, Lieutenant General Rodrigo was received by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, Air Commodore Buddika Piyasiri. Thereafter, he was accorded a Guard of Honour by the SLAF Colour Wing.

During the ensuing meeting, the Air Force Commander thanked Lieutenant General Rodrigo for his dedicated service to the nation and for the cooperation extended to the Sri Lanka Air Force during his tenure as the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. He also appreciated the close working relationship maintained between the two Services in support of national security.

The Air Force Commander extended his best wishes to Lieutenant General Rodrigo in his future endeavours and thanked him for his valuable service to the country. The occasion concluded with the exchange of mementoes to mark the visit.
