A workshop on “Results-Based Management” was conducted at Air Force Headquarters on 18 August 2026, on the initiative of the Director General Planning, to enhance understanding and strengthen the implementation of the Organisational Results Framework (ORF) within the Sri Lanka Air Force, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development through the Ministry of Defence. The workshop was conducted by Mr Prashantha Abeykoon, Chartered Accountant  and provided theoretical and practical insights into the application of Results-Based Management in organisational planning, budgeting, monitoring and performance management.

The sessions focused on identifying the Strategic Thrust Areas of the Sri Lanka Air Force and translating them into clearly defined outcomes and outputs, with emphasis on linking strategic priorities, activities, resource allocation and measurable results. Director Personnel & Planning and Staff Officers Planning from SLAF Directorates and Divisions participated in the workshop. The knowledge and guidance gained are expected to contribute towards further strengthening the ORF, organisational accountability, performance measurement and effective utilisation of resources.
