2nd Anniversary of SLAF Detachment Maamaduwa

Sri Lanka Air Force Detachment Mamaduwa celebrated its 2nd anniversary on 28th August 2011 at the detachment premises.

Sri Lanka Air Force Detachment Mamaduwa was established on 28th  Aug 09 to cater  the demand for the aggregate  requirement of  the North reawakening development programs such as A-9 Road Construction/Construction of the Northern railway track/Sada-Hiru Saya Construction and other construction requirements which arose in the North and East Provinces. The project Commanded by Squadron Leader PSW Molligoda (OC SLAF Mamaduwa) functions under the directions of Air Commodore KFR Fernando (Base Cmdr SLAF Base Vna) and Group Captain RPT Corea (Command Development Project Officer).
 
SLAF detachment Mamaduwa held a All night pirith chanting campaign 28th August 11 from 21.30 hrs to 06.30 hrs on the following day to mark the 2nd year celebration of the detachment and over 300 civilians, servicemen were participated including Air Commodore KFR Fernando (Base Cmdr SLAF Base Vna) and Group Captain RPT Corea (Command Development Project Officer).

This Pirith Chanting was broadcast through Rangiri Dabulu Radio (FM) channel for whole night on 28 Aug 11.
