MOTIVATIONAL DRIVE HELD FOR SLAF SPORTSMEN AND SPORTSWOMEN

A motivational drive aimed at enhancing the mental preparedness and competitive performance of Sri Lanka Air Force sportsmen and sportswomen representing Billiards & Snooker, Carrom, Elle, Handball, Rowing and Kayaking was conducted yesterday (17 September 2026) at Air Force Headquarters.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the President, Air Force Sports Council and Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, with the objective of further strengthening the confidence, motivation and team spirit of SLAF athletes in preparation for upcoming major sporting events.

The motivational session was conducted by Mr Bathiya Arthanayake, a professional motivator and member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). The session focused on developing a positive competitive mindset, building self-confidence, enhancing individual and team performance, and fostering unity and team spirit among the athletes.

The initiative forms part of the continued efforts of the Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Council to enhance the overall performance, mental readiness and competitive preparedness of SLAF sportsmen and women as they represent the Air Force at the 14th Defence Services Games and other forthcoming national and international sporting events.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
