COMMANDER’S INSPECTION AT SLAF COMBAT TRAINING SCHOOL DIYATALAWA
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Commander’s Inspection at the Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School (SLAF CTS) Diyatalawa on 18 September 2026.
The Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade commanded by the Commanding Officer of SLAF CTS Diyatalawa Air Commodore Lalith Sugathadasa. During the parade, Certificates of Commendation were awarded to the following service and civilian personnel in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Sri Lanka Air Force:
Flight Sergeant RM Samarananda – Catering Specialist (I)
Flight Sergeant DMDC Dissanayake – Operations Ground (Special)
Flight Sergeant SMMP Dissanayaka – Physical Trainer (I)
Corporal HMSR Hennayaka – Air Force Health Inspector (I)
Corporal HRN Madumalka – Nurse (I)
Corporal RMUS Rathnayake – Operations Ground (III)
Corporal DMK Dissanayake – Operations Ground (III)
Civilian Mr MKR Weerarathne – Attendant (II)
During the inspection, the Commander visited several key areas of the School, including the School Headquarters, No. 30 Regiment Wing, Training Wing Headquarters, Sports Section, Main Guard Room, Hospital, Trainees’ Billet, Welfare Shop Complex, Electronic Section, Swimming Pool, Pre-School, Horse Stable, newly renovated Holiday Homes and the proposed site for the Ex-Servicemen’s Holiday Home.
In his concluding address, the Commander expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Commanding Officer and the personnel under his command for their dedicated and tireless efforts in transforming civilians into competent service personnel. He further commended their commitment to maintaining discipline, professionalism and the highest standards across the School. The Commander emphasized that such dedication and commitment play a vital role in enhancing the image of the Sri Lanka Air Force while contributing meaningfully towards the broader objectives of national development.
