CHANGE OF COMMAND AT NO. 33 LAND BASED AIR DEFENCE WING
The Change of Command of No. 33 Land Based Air Defence Wing at Sri Lanka Air Force Base Anuradhapura was held on 29 September 2026. The traditional Handing Over and Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Wing premises, where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader PADCM Pattiwila MSc (Def & Strat Stu), BSc (Avn Stu), psc, formally handed over command to Squadron Leader SADK Samaraweera.
Following the change of command, Squadron Leader PADCM Pattiwila will assume duties as a Directing Staff member at the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay.
The newly appointed Commanding Officer Squadron Leader SADK Samaraweera, previously served as the Staff Officer Air Defence IV at the Directorate of Air Operations prior to assuming command of No. 33 Land Based Air Defence Wing.
Following the change of command, Squadron Leader PADCM Pattiwila will assume duties as a Directing Staff member at the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay.
