The Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit successfully conducted a Youth Leadership Programme for the children of serving Air Force personnel in collaboration with the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Toastmasters Club. The programme was initiated with the guidance and support of the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Krishanthi Edirisinghe, with the objective of enhancing the public speaking abilities, leadership qualities, confidence and interpersonal skills of the participating children.

The programme provided a valuable platform for young participants to develop effective communication skills, strengthen their social relationships and cultivate essential leadership qualities through structured learning activities and practical experiences. The collaboration with the KDU Toastmasters Club enabled the participants to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of experienced members in public speaking and personal development.

The concluding ceremony was graced by the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Krishanthi Edirisinghe, and attended by the Director General Air Operations, Air Secretary, senior members of the Seva Vanitha Unit, officers, other ranks, civil staff, members of the KDU Toastmasters Club, distinguished guests and the participating children.

The initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit to the welfare and development of Air Force families, particularly in empowering the younger generation with the knowledge, confidence and skills required to become responsible and capable future leaders.
