Sri Lanka Air Force Palaly and Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) won the men’s and women’s Inter Unit Rifle Meet 2011 at SLAF Ampara on 22nd of September 2011.

The meet was held from 18th to 22nd September at the SLAF Ampara range with the participation of over 100 shooters from 17 SLAF establishments.

SLAF Palaly emerged as the men’s champions with 15.91 points whilst Baticaloa emerged runners up with a tally of 13.19 points. In the women’s category, the champion BIA team scored 6.418 points while SLAF Katunayake Regiment team emerged runners up with a score of 4.074 points.

Leading Aircraftman Jayaratna APGRP of Palaly and Aircraftswoman Nishshanka MAMP Katunayake Regiment team were adjudged best shooter in the male and female category.

Director Ground Operation, Air Vice Marshal  Mohan Zoysa  graced the occasion  as the chief Guest. The Director Training and the Chairman SLAF Shooting Air Vice Marshal Kishan Yahampath and the Commanding Officer SLAF Ampara were also present.
