SLAF fire fighters emerged Champions in the Inter Fire services Athletic meet 2011 held on  21st December 2011 at Campbell grounds  Colombo.

14 Fire Services operators in the country participated in this annual event which was organized by the Sri Lankan branch of the Institute of Fire Engineers of the United Kingdom.


President of the Institute of Fire Engineers (Sri Lanka Branch), Mr. Rohitha Fernando, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chief Fire Officer of the Sri Lanka Air Force Gp Capt PMCP Dias, Gp Capt RK Sri Nissanka (rtd), Officer in Charge Sri Lanka Air Force Fire Unit Colombo Sqn Ldr CP Hettiarachchi were amongst the large gathering of other officials from  the Institute of Fire Engineers (Sri Lanka Branch) who attended the event  .
