The children’s party and the Base get-together of SLAF Base Ratmalana  for year 2011 were held on 21st  December 2011 under the patronage of Base Commander, SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore DLS Dias.

The event was graced by the Base Commander, Air Commodore DLS Dias and the ceremony commenced with the lighting of traditional oil lamp by the Chief Guest.

The children’s party was conducted from 1630 hrs with numerous kids’ entertainment items. Giant wheel, Merry-go-round, Kiddies train and the Bouncer were full of children throughout the event. Several organized games were conducted for children while dancing, bicycle race, musical chair and fancy dress competitions became extremely competitive events. Attractive prizes were given away to the winners and all children participated in each.

The Base get-together commenced at 1930 hrs with an eye catching fireworks display which saw light scattered all over the sky. A magician conducted a wondrous magic show at the outset of the function. The Air Force Eagle’s band performed while the Air Force cultural team displayed attractive dancing items at the function. The get-together was very eventful and was run until midnight which times the people went home with delightful memories.
