New Officers' Mess Building at SLAF Station Palaly Declared Open by the Commander

The newly constructed Officers' Mess Building at SLAF Station Palaly was declared open by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias this morning (15 July 2020). The new building will house a Dining Hall, Ante Room, Bar, Ladies Room, TV Room and a VIP Suite.

The construction project was carried out by the Air Field Construction Wing at SLAF Base Ratmalana. The Project Architect was Squadron Leader VAPTV Arachchi and Project Site Engineer was Squadron Leader OS Maginarachchi.

The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Palaly, Group Captain AV Jayasekera, Officers of the Station and the Civil Engineering Crew were present for the opening ceremony. The Commander extended his appreciation to the Engineering Crew and the Commanding Officer for a job well done as the new Officers' Mess Building stood tall as one of the finest in the SLAF.

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
