Sri Lanka Air Force Participates for the RAF Virtual Air Tattoo 2020

Following the cancellation of the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Situation, the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises (RAFCTE) initiated an online programme to be broadcast during what would have been the RIAT weekend (18 and 19 July 2020).  

The free to view programme was presented from a studio by the Air Tattoo commentators and included an exciting mix of new and archived footage, virtual air displays from around the world, aircraft tours and insights.  

The Sri Lanka Air Force under the guidance of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias also participated for this new Virtual Air Tattoo 2020 for the first time in history. The SLAF showcased its heavy lift capabilities through a video tour on the No 2 Heavy Transport Squadron. Millions of viewers were given the opportunity to visit one of the largest virtual platforms which showcased air power capabilities of Air Forces from around the world.

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
