Newly Appointed Commander of the Navy Calls on the Commander of the Air Force
The newly appointed Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne called on the Commander of the Air force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias this morning (20 July 2020) at Air Force Headquarters.
The Navy Commander was received by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo, Air Vice Marshal CB Labrooy after which a Guard of Honour was conferred by the Colour Wing of the SLAF. The Navy Commander was then conducted to the Office of the Commander of the Air Force where the two Commanders had a cordial discussion. Air Marshal Dias congratulated Vice Admiral Ulugetenne on reaching the three star rank and also on being appointed as the 24th Commander of the Navy. Air Marshal Dias also extended his fullest support to the new Navy Chief on behalf of the entire Air Force.
The newly appointed Navy Commander was introduced to the Chief of Staff and the Air Force Board of Management after which official plaques were exchanged between the two Commanders to mark the occasion.
