The United States Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC), in collaboration with the No 3 Maritime Squadron of the SLAF Academy China Bay, successfully conducted the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Subject Matter Expert Exchange (ISR SMEE) programme from 11 to 15 May 2026.
The programme was organised with the participation of SLAF and SL Navy personnel, including flying squadron pilots, air observers and intelligence officers together with members of the SOCPAC team from the United States. The ISR SMEE was conducted with the objective of enhancing professional knowledge, operational coordination and the exchange of expertise in the fields of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance operations.
During the five-day programme, participants engaged in a series of discussions, presentations and practical knowledge-sharing sessions focusing on ISR operational concepts, sensor operations, maritime domain awareness, reconnaissance procedures and contemporary security challenges. The exchange also provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral cooperation and foster professional relationships between the SLAF and the United States military counterparts.
