Aviyana Ceylon, chaired by Dr. Thisara Hewawasam, extended financial sponsorship amounting to Rs. 2.5 million for the upcoming Eagles’ Monsoon Cup Golf Tournament. A symbolic cheque handover took place today (18 December 2025) at Air Force Headquarters, where the sponsorship was officially presented to the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe. 

The occasion was attended by the Chairman Air Force, Air Commodore Erandika Gunewardene, the Director Media and Secretary of the Air Force Sports Council, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, the Secretary of Eagles’ Golf Links, Group Captain Asanka Rathnayake, Secretary Air Force Golf, Wing Commander RASTA Fernando, officials from Aviyana Ceylon and other invitees. 

The sponsorship is aligned with Aviyana Ceylon’s involvement in tourism-related initiatives. Golf tournaments are recognized as contributing to tourism activity, and events such as the Eagles’ Monsoon Cup provide an opportunity to associate sporting events with hospitality and resort-based tourism in Sri Lanka.

The Eagles’ Monsoon Cup Golf Tournament is scheduled to be conducted as an upcoming sporting event organized under the auspices of Eagles’ Golf Links.
