SLAF STATION PIDURUTHALAGALA EXTENDS EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE TO DITWAH-AFFECTED SCHOOLCHILDREN IN NUWARA ELIYA

A donation programme to distribute school accessories to children affected by the recent natural disaster ‘Ditwah’ was successfully conducted today (05 February 2026) by SLAF Station Piduruthalagala, in collaboration with an external donor, at Nuwara Eliya. The programme was generously assisted by Mr. Rasika Wickremaratne and carried out under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Piduruthalagala, Group Captain Chinthaka Jayasundara.
The initiative was organized with the objective of supporting the educational requirements of students who were adversely impacted by the disaster and alleviating the difficulties faced by their families during the recovery period. The programme covered several schools in the Nuwara Eliya area, namely Gemunu Vidyalaya - Seetha Eliya, Srimath James Peiris Vidyalaya - Nuwara Eliya and Girls’ High School - Nuwara Eliya. Essential school accessories and educational materials were distributed among the students to ensure the continuity of their studies and to help restore their morale.
