The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe conducted the Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Base Ratmalana on 11 September 2026.

The Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade commanded by the Base Commander SLAF Base Ratmalana Air Vice Marshal Dinesh Jayaweera. During the parade, Certificates of Commendation were awarded to the following service and civilian personnel in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Sri Lanka Air Force:

During the inspection, the Commander visited the Base Headquarters lodger formations and other key areas of the Base reviewing their operational and administrative readiness.

Concluding the inspection, the Commander addressed all service and civilian personnel at the     No. 8 Squadron Hangar. He highlighted the vital role played by SLAF Base Ratmalana in supporting the operational and administrative capabilities of the Sri Lanka Air Force and emphasized that every member must strive to contribute at their fullest potential while upholding the highest standards of Professional Excellence, Integrity and Discipline.

The Commander further stressed the importance of pursuing excellence in every endeavour as members of a professional Air Force. Concluding his address, he commended the Base Commander and all personnel of SLAF Base Ratmalana for their dedication, teamwork and collective effort in maintaining the Base to the high standard expected at the Commander’s Inspection.
